Cherrapunji, a city in Meghalaya, known for receiving the heaviest rainfall in the world. It is the wettest place on the earth. It is located in the east Khasi hills district of Meghalaya, India. It is also known as Sohra and Churra. It is also famous for its waterfalls, caves, and living root bridges.

Attributes of Cherrapunji

Cherrapunji has one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, the Nohkalikai Falls. It is the highest waterfall in India, which tourists definitely go to see.

There are many caves. Some of them are several kilometers long. It has also living root bridges, which attracts everyone more. It has also seven sisters waterfalls which is surrounded by lush green forest and gives a very attractive view.

01. Nohkalikai Waterfalls
         It's meaning is '' Jump of  Ka Likai'' in Khasi. It is one of the tallest plunge waterfall in India and  It is fourth tallest plunge in the world.
02. Seven Sisters Waterfalls
           It is also known as Nohsngithiang falls or Mawsmai falls. It is a seven segmented waterfall  which meaning is It has seven streams. It is a popular tourist destination, especially for nature lovers and photographers. It is the tourists attraction in Cherrapunji. It is a paradise of North East.

03. Mawsmai Cave
           Mawsmai cave, a famous tourist attraction near Cherrapunji. Nature has created this cave very beautifully. It is the one of the most beautiful cave. It is known for its reachable limestone formation and underground beauty.


04. Double Decker Living Root Bridge
            This living root bridge are a unique form of architecture in Northest India. It is an unbelievable root bridge in India. This is also a great example of Bio-Engineering. It is located in Nongriat Village
